North Beach isn’t just about strong property growth – its café culture has been brewing just as much buzz over the past five years. Many Perth locals know that North Beach has quietly become one of the best places to eat along our coast. From laid-back cafés to long lunches with ocean views, there’s something here for every mood.
From a spot to grab a coffee after a morning swim, somewhere cosy to catch up with friends over brunch, or dinner by the water, we’ve rounded up some of our fave North Beach restaurants and cafés.
1. Froth Craft Brewery
If you’re looking for something a little different from the usual coastal café, Froth Craft Brewery is a must-visit in North Beach.
Known for its locally brewed craft beers, lively atmosphere and rooftop space, it’s a great spot for a relaxed afternoon or casual dinner with friends. The menu leans toward elevated pub favourites like share plates, burgers and loaded fries – making it perfect for a social catch-up.
If you just head upstairs from Froth Brewery, you’ll find Tom’s Italian. With a cheeky nod to the local surf break of the same name, this restaurant has become a mainstay in North Beach for a relaxed dinner out.
The menu is classic Italian comfort food done well- fresh pasta, woodfired pizza and generous share plates. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over a glass of wine and a long dinner with friends.
Warm, welcoming and sharing some of the best views of the Sunset Coast – it’s easy to see why everyone keeps coming back.
Now located on the corner of Flora Terrace after moving from its iconic position on Bennion Street, Yelo continues to be a go-to for your morning coffee or a relaxed breakfast.
You’ll still find the same great coffee, yummy café favourites and a steady stream of locals dropping in after their morning walk or beach swim – just in a fresh new spot.
Taking over the much-loved North Beach Deli site – and more recently home to Spinifex Brewery – Salt & Oak has been beautifully reimagined into a fresh, modern coastal dining space.
It offers a more refined experience while still keeping that relaxed North Beach vibe, with a menu centred around seasonal produce and thoughtfully crafted dishes.
Perfect for a date night or long dinner with friends, it’s one of those places that feels special without ever feeling too formal.
Mr D’Arcy brings a playful twist to the North Beach dining scene, blending Asian-Australian fusion with a touch of cheeky charm.
A selection of beers on tap and enticing cocktails paired with bold Southeast Asian flavours, all set within a quirky, character-filled space. With cosy nooks perfect for intimate catch-ups plus room for larger groups, it’s a spot that feels both fun and a little bit unexpected.
Pizza lovers, this one’s for you. Our friendly neighbour on the Terrace, Maestro Sourdough Pizza, is a must-visit in North Beach – and for good reason!
Recently named among the Top 50 pizzas in the world (a pretty huge accolade), they’re all about authentic Neapolitan pizza done properly.
Think: woodfired bases, perfectly blistered with those signature blackened, crispy edges, and simple, high-quality toppings that let the flavours shine. Local, authentic, and seriously good. They do pizza, and they do it well.
If you fancy a short drive (or walk) into Marmion, you’ll find another amazing addition to the coastal food scene with General Public. Adding to their Scarborough venue, GP specialises in sourdough pizzas, tantalising share plates, beers and good times.
With an expansive, family friendly layout and a seriously yummy menu – General Public has nailed casual dining in the suburbs. Well worth a trip!
Okay, so not technically North Beach but just next door you’ll find Little Bay. This instagram-worthy cafe is one of those places that perfectly captures the Perth coastal lifestyle, so we had to include it on our list!
With its bright, airy space and ocean views, it’s a favourite for weekend brunch or a midweek coffee stop. The menu focuses on fresh, modern café classics – great coffee, nourishing breakfast options and beautiful presented dishes.
The takeaway coffee window also makes it the perfect spot to pop by for a cuppa after a morning walk along the coast.
From sunrise coffees to sunset dinners overlooking the ocean, the range of North Beach restaurants keeps growing while still holding onto that relaxed community feel locals love.
If you’re new to the area, these spots are a great place to start.
And if you’re already a local, chances are you’ve got your own favourite table waiting!
